Sow early crops
Start off some very early veg crops on a table in front of a bright window in a spare room for a racing start on the season. Sow early lettuces, spinach, summer cabbage, round-rooted carrots, turnips, beetroot and onions in module trays, and plant out the seedlings in early spring under cloches in the garden.
