Plan for late-summer colour
Sow fast-growing hardy annuals for late summer colour, from August till well into autumn. Stocks, Clarkia, Godetia, candytuft, pot marigold and toadflax will get away in double-fast speed now the soil is nice and warm: sow into damp, well-raked soil in generous drifts for a splash of colour you can really look forward to.
