Tip of the Day
Prune clematis
Prune late-flowering clematis like Clematis orientalis, C. texensis and C. viticella and also large-flowered clematis like 'William Kennett' and 'Nelly Moser', cutting each stem back to around 30cm above ground level and making sure you always cut to just above a pair of strong, healthy buds. It may seem drastic but they'll bounce back with lots of lovely new fresh growth and an explosion of flowers later in the summer.
